Members of the Troupe travel extensively to Pow Wows and other gatherings to share their gift song and dance with all peoples, and to raise awareness of the diversity of First Nations culture. Many of the performances feature champion dancers of various traditional and contemporary dance styles and music. Experience this rich tradition and heritage and colour, sound and movement. Choose from five entertainment packages offered by the Wanuskewin Dance Troupe. KIHIW (The Hawk)1 First Nations Dancer The KIHIW Package is a 30 minute performance. Cost: $450.00 plus GST. MASKWA (The Bear)2 First Nations Dancer The MASKWA Package is a 35 - 40 minute performance. Cost: $895.00 plus GST. MAHIHKAN (The Wolf)3 First Nations Dancers The MAHIHKAN Package is a 45 minute performance. Knowledgeable Emcee adds to the experience. Cost $1,150 plus GST. PASKWAW-MOSTOS (The Buffalo)5 First Nations Dancers The PASKWAW-MOSTOS Package is a 60 minute performance. Cost: $1,890.00 plus GST. One way First Nations people have expressed their culture and marked important events is through song and dance. This is certainly true of Pow Wow dancing, which has been part of Plains culture for thousands of years. Everything from the colourful regalia of the dancers to the variety of dance styles carries historical meaning that has been passed down through the generations.
