Tours/Education ProgramsWanuskewin Heritage Park is truly a unique place. The Park hugs the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River just five kilometres north of Saskatoon. On its seven hundred and sixty acres, there are nineteen sites that represent the Northern Plains Peoples: summer and winter camp sites, bison kill sites, tipi rings and a boulder alignment known as a medicine wheel, all found within one kilometre of each other. To aid visitors to Wanuskewin, an award-winning interpretive centre was designed to reflect Indian cultural values. As a historical gathering and meeting place Wanuskewin still fulfills that role providing a rich variety of programming for tours, which can be customized to fit into workshops, retreats, and companion events for conventions. Our ability to provide our guests dance presentations, traditional story tellers, speakers, elders and willingness to custom tailor programming for our clients, keeps us firmly positioned as a unique place to tour. Our basic package includes three interpreted programs with the tour fees, and access to our art gallery, trails, and gift shop. Plus, you will love our restaurant with traditional food offerings such as bannock, bison, Saskatoon berries and muskeg tea. Make your tour memorable and arrange a special menu for your group. Our Chef delights in offering anything from a light snack of bannock and Saskatoon Berry tea to formal twelve-course dinners. |
